Nursery Furniture

So I finally decided on going with the Storkcraft Aspen nursery furniture set in Espresso. I also bought the light blue paint today to paint the nursery. Two walls are brown and two are the blue that is in the bedding. Can't wait to see the end product!!

MAN CRUSH

In case you don't know, Matt has a HUGE Man Crush on one, Brady Quinn. (I'm not going to lie, I think I might have a slight one as well. Have you ever seen that body?!? OMG! ) So once Matt saw the commercials Brady was doing for the EAS Myoplex drinks, Matt HAD to have them! The great thing is, I now get them for like 50% off at the Abbott Nutrition store. And because I also work in their Marketing Department, I think one day I might get a chance to run into the guy!

Family Visit!!

We love when the Conn's (our sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew) and Mom can come and visit. They came in the first weekend in March for Kenzie's cheer competition. Her little squad, the Flight Center Flyers Tiny squad, was so adorable! I wish I had taken a better picture but you can see them running around trying to get in formation. They took first place, woo-hoo! That weekend I also gave them their Easter baskets because I knew we might not be able to catch up Easter weekend. Of course I had to include the picture of Matt with those fabulous glasses on and Scott with the duck quacker in his mouth! It's always a good time with the Conn's/Balster's!

Winter Wonderland at the Balster's

Macy where are you?

The girls leaping over the piles of snow to get around

"Great shovel job daddy!"

Our street, it looks like a movie.

" I'm ready to come in now"
The snow was fun for a little bit and then it got old! Poor Matt worked 2 12-hour shifts in a row and then 5 hours that Sunday plowing. He was beat! I stayed in most of Saturday. I made the mistake of trying to go out on Friday and it was a mess! Traffic was sooo heavy. Then on Sunday, we had Emily Hone's baby shower. Thank God it had stopped. Most of her friends were able to make it from out of town so that was nice. Come on Spring!!!

It's been so long!

So it's been over two weeks since my last post. So what's new with us? I started my new job on March 10th and it's been a whirlwind ever since. Last week I was in Chicago for a few days to training at my corporate office. I really enjoy the people I work with at North American. We have a really strong team. I got to meet up with three of the girls for dinner, Price, Doege, and Jame's (the Chicago girls). We had a great time! This week, I've put in some pretty long hours just trying to get acquainted with the people, processes and programs at Abbott. I work for North American but I am on site at Abbott Nutrition in their Marketing Department. I work with the brand managers on their programs and project manage their printing needs, promotional needs, etc. So far it has been great!

Matt is still working hard! He's been called in a few times in the last week since our last crazy snow storm. Basketball season is over- Thank God!!! Now he's busy with painting our bedroom, the nursery and finishing our Master bath as well. It never ends!!

Baby Boy Balster is doing great! He's very active now a days. Some more than others. I can't wait to see what it's going to be like in a couple of months. I go for my next doctor's appointment next Friday. I'm not sure if you've heard Matt's latest joke or not, but he's telling everyone, "Yeah, the doctor said everything looks great with the baby except for just one thing..........He has a penis of a six-year old!" Haha, Isn't he so funny!!! I think he's a proud papa of the little guy.

So that's about it for us right now. I hope all is well. Have a happy Easter tomorrow!

Baby Bedding

I found this online last night and went ahead and ordered it. It was on sale, yeh!! It might actually fit with the colors that are already in the room and also with the chair that I wanted to use in the baby room. I can't wait to see it in person!!

Daddy's First Purchases

After our appointment today, we went and did a little bit of shopping. Daddy was able to pick out the first outfits and books for the little baby boy. Boys actually have cute clothes now!!

Popular Vote Loses

With a vote of 18 (for Girl) to 14 (for Boy), the popular vote loses on the web page. It's a Boy!!! A very healthy, growing boy. It was so cute to see him. Believe it or not Matt actually found the "turtle" first. The doctor was across the room changing the paper to the machine (for the pictures) and Matt was playing around with the machine, and the Doctor said "Whoa, I think I might have seen something" (which
I thought I had also). He came back over and showed us
that yes, indeed, there was a little turtle. The doctor
then followed with the phrase, "Wow, he's well endowed"(as you'll see by the pictures). Matt is a very proud papa!
