We took Maxton in on Monday for a weight check. I was a little concerned that the peeing and pooping had declined so we went in a few days early to get checked. When we left the hospital he was weighing 8 lbs 15 ozs and at the Doc appt on Monday he weighed in at 8 lbs 9 ozs. So a little bit of a drop. My breast milk officially came in on Sunday/Monday so that is what we were waiting on. Today, his Doc appt went very well. He gained 4 ozs in 2 days which is really good the NP said. She would have been happy with a half an ounce. So we're looking good, peeing and pooping have Definately increased!! We go back next Wednesday for another check up. We're negative on Jaundice as well.
Other than Maxton having his days and nights confused at the present time, everything has been great. Getting use to the lack of sleep and no schedule. Hopefully in due time.

He looks like a Brut in this picture. Instead of a baseball player, I think we have an Offensive Lineman!! :)

Welcome Baby Maxton!!
Maxton Lavern Balster arrived on July 23rd at 11:10 pm, weighing a whopping 9 lbs 5 ozs and 20.5 inches long. Maxton and Mom are doing well. He is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Labor and Delivery was not the easiest but was ALL worth it. Here are some pictures for you...

Induction Scheduled
Our induction is scheduled for Thursday, July 24th at 5:00 am at ST. ANN's in Westerville. Note the change in hospital. We were going to go to Riverside (and still plan to if I were to go before Thursday) but Dr. Raymond needed to schedule at St. Ann's. Not sure if it was for convenience or if Riverside was packed for that day, but that is where it will most likely be. So If Maxton doesn't arrive before then, we will have a new addition on Thursday. I'm getting so excited!!! Matt and I will send texts and emails I'm sure that day. I am also bringing my laptop to the hospital so I may be able to post a blog within a day or so.
Update From Doc Appt Yesterday
Doctor said I'm about 3 cm dialated and 60% effaced. I'm waiting to hear back from the Nurse this morning as she is scheduling an Induction appt. for around Thursday this week. I will know for sure later this am and will let you all know. Doc said I could go before that appt. Mucus Plug has been leaving since Saturday. Maxton is still up there high but hopefully will drop down once I get progressing some more. Hopefully we will have a baby in the next couple of days. Can't wait!!

The Dark Knight
I think Maxton is confusing day and night at this point. He's been more active between 12 am and 2 am tonight than he was all day Sunday. Hence, why I'm up at 2:23 am writing a blog post.
Matt and I went to see The Dark Knight on Saturday evening and it was GREAT! I highly suggest seeing it in the theatres (if you want to pay $18!) as thriller/action movies are typically better on the big screen. It was a long movie. Heath Ledger was great in it of course. Christian Bale is H-O-T in this movie! I thoroughly enjoyed watching him. I give it an A rating.

Anybody in for a Mini-Petty??
I can't stop laughing every time I think of Mini-Petty. So Matt was out golfing with my Step-Dad and I was hanging out with Mom this weekend back in Bucyrus. I get this text from Matt that says Go get a mini petty today. I started laughing so hard I was crying. He meant a mani-pedi, like a manicure-pedicure. So now I can't stop calling it a mini petty!!!

Last Doctor's Appointment
So this past Tuesday afternoon Matt and I headed to hopefully the final Doctor's appointment at 4:00. I weigh in, use the restroom, get to my room undress from waist down (some of you know the drill) and as soon as I put my naked butt on that table, the nurse comes in and says Doctor has to leave to go to a delivery. Ugh...put the pants back on and out we go. So we arrive the next morning at 8:45 am soon to find out we have to wait again as Doc is coming from the hospital. Thank goodness Mr. Entertainer came with me, because those were the funniest 45 minutes we've had in a long time. Matt starts out with fidgeting with all the equipment, opening drawers and picking up all the utensils that he says hes going to "use". Then he finds the latex gloves! He proceeds to put one on his head and blow it up with his nose. I was dying laughing!!! I'm like what if the Doctor comes in right now. So I'm getting anxious, sweaty palms and sweaty other areas. Boredom sets in and I decide I want to partake in the actions. I decide to get off the table and do the naked booty dance toward the door just waiting to see if anyone would walk in on my showmanship. Unfortunately, no takers. But can't you just envision a 9 month pregnant lady breaking it down in Docs office half clothed!?!
So finally Doc arrives after 45 minutes and we get the show on the road. Maxton looks good in there, handsome like his dadddy ;). Looks a little squished. Doc says he's weighing in at about 8.8 lbs already!!! I still have a week and at half pound a week, YEP I called it, probably a 9 pounder. But he'll be a healthy 9 lbs so we're excited. I haven't really progressed at all. Cervix is still thick and he is still sitting up there high. Says the cervix isn't inducible yet and I have to go back this Monday for another check up. Depending on progression (or lack there of) we will talk about future steps. Hopefully there will be progress and an Induction will be scheduled toward the end of next week. That is, If I don't go before then. Now I'm really starting to get anxious.
I'm trying to get a good long walk in every night so gravity will take its course. We'll keep you updated.

No Big Update Yet
So we're 10 days away and getting anxious. I'm not so much nervous (might be once the contractions start, we'll see) but anxious to meet the little guy and to experience everything I have been hearing so many fun stories about. We go to the Doctor on Tuesday for an Ultrasound and exam. We'll find out about how much he is weighing and then I'm sure the Doc will start talking about the plans in the next week. I have no idea what he is weighing in at currently nor do I know if there is any progression down south. I will find out everything on Tuesday. So I will keep you updated. So for now, here is my 38 week picture.

Work Horse at it Again!
I love how my husband is a jack of all trades (master of none, right?! :) ). Just kidding, he does very well on his home jobs. So, this weekend his mom Pat came down to help out with painting the house. He did all the high painting and Pat trimmed the lower portion of the house. He started Friday morning and by Saturday evening he had all of the tan on and much of the white trim done. The front is complete, doesn't it look so nice!!! Compared to what it use to in that awful faded blue!! The back is near complete with just some of the white trim still needing a second coat. The sides also need some work, hence why there are no pictures. I think everything looks great. Great job Matt and Pat!!!!
While they were outside, I was inside all weekend cleaning the carpets. I got all of the rooms done! If that's not considered "nesting" I don't know what is! Bring on the labor!

How to Comment
I often get emails from Famly and Friends, because they aren't quite sure how to comment on a blog post. Well down in the bottom right corner, you can click on Comment (might say 0 comments, or 2 comments, etc.). Once you're on that screen, you can type your message in the box. Down below, you do not need to sign in or create an account. You may click on the Name/URL box and then type in your first and last name. Or click on Anonymous, and you can leave your name in the message box above. So that's how you do it. We love hearing from everyone and have fun reading your comments. We hope everyone can create one of these things so we can keep up to date with you too!
37 Week Appointment
No Progress. Cervix is softening, but that's it. I guess that's good news since Matt leaves for Orlando on Saturday for four days. However, I am ready to get this show on the road! It's been a fun adventure but I'm ready to call it a day with the pregnancy. Bring on Maxton!!! :)
Amanda, I might be requesting your eviction notice soon :) as that seemed to of worked!
